Following 3Srobotics’ successful participation in IWIWM’2023, where it showcased to industry experts and scholars the innovative achievements of its independent-brand HGXD industrial robots in the intelligent welding segment and launched the first-generation HGXD 3-in-1 intelligent welding robot, the two-year appointment arrived as promised. 3Srobotics once again appeared at the 2025 5th International Workshop on Intelligentized Welding Manufacturing (IWIWM’2025), held in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province from December 5 to 7.
This edition of IWIWM provided the highest-level academic and technical exchange forum (1 main venue and 3 sub-venues) for experts, scholars and professional technicians in welding intelligent manufacturing, robotic intelligent welding technology and related application fields.
IWIWM’2025 invited renowned experts and scholars at home and abroad, including Professor Qu Jinping, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor Wu Lin of Harbin Institute of Technology, Professor Zhou Wei of Nanyang Technological University, Li Xiaoyan, Vice Chairman of the Welding Branch of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, Professor Zhang Yuming of the University of Kentucky, Professor Chen Shanben of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor John Norrish and Professor Pan Zengxi of the University of Wollongong, researcher Bi Guijun of the Guangdong Academy of Sciences Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute, Professor Shi Yonghua of South China University of Technology, and Mr. Hu Yin, Senior Editor of Springer Nature, to deliver the latest important academic and technical research reports and roundtable discussions. The conference brought together colleagues in the welding and intelligent manufacturing technology fields to discuss the hot topics, frontier scientific issues and key technologies of intelligent welding manufacturing development, guiding and promoting the steady development of intelligent welding manufacturing technology with its focus and specificity.
During the conference, 3Srobotics Deputy R&D Director Zhang Xinzhu shared “Application Cases of HGXD Embodied Intelligent Welding Technology”, showing industry experts and scholars how embodied intelligence in vertical welding scenarios solves the real pain points and difficulties encountered in actual production and manufacturing.

Conference Background:
Based on the industry background of urgent demand for research and development of intelligent welding technology, academic institutions such as the Robot and Automation Professional Committee of the Chinese Welding Society initiated and hosted the first “2017 International Workshop on Intelligentized Welding Manufacturing (IWIWM’2017)” in Shanghai on June 23-25, 2017, and agreed that the IWIWM series would be held every two years.
