3Srobotics CTO Dr. Yang Zhanye Attends Tianjin Tiankai Innovation Salon and Signs Strategic Partnership with Shengyao Intelligence

3Srobotics CTO Dr. Yang Zhanye recently appeared at the Tianjin Tiankai Innovation Salon and, on behalf of the company, officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shengyao Intelligence. The two parties will join hands in the fields of physical AI simulation and intelligent welding to build a new localized-technology ecosystem. Under the agreement, Shanghai 3Srobotics and Shanghai Shengyao Intelligence will cooperate deeply to explore next-generation physical AI simulation technology, focusing on welding processes and accelerating the deployment of high-value “AI + Welding” applications.

Tiankai Innovation Salon: A Frontier Platform for Industry-Academia-Research Matchmaking

Recently, the Tianjin Tiankai Innovation Salon was successfully held. Jointly created by the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology, the Tianjin Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and the Tianjin Municipal Education Commission, it is a regular brand event for industry-academia-research matchmaking in Tianjin. The salon focuses on sub-tracks of strategic emerging industries, gathering academicians, university research forces and market entities to accelerate the local transformation and deployment of cutting-edge technology in Tianjin.

3Srobotics CTO Dr. Yang Zhanye was invited to the salon, joining experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from the Tianjin Association for Science and Technology, universities, aerospace and marine equipment fields for in-depth exchanges on the deep integration of physical AI simulation and advanced manufacturing.

Signing Moment: 3Srobotics × Shengyao Intelligence, Co-Exploring a New Physical AI Simulation Track

During the Tiankai Innovation Salon, 3Srobotics and Shengyao Intelligence formally signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two sides will fully leverage their technical strengths and industry accumulation in physical AI simulation, welding-process intelligence and new-material process development, and jointly release new-generation physical AI simulation intelligent products and full-process solutions for localized process needs in aerospace, offshore petroleum, intelligent equipment and other fields.

Both sides said this cooperation is an important step in moving physical AI simulation technology from academic exploration to industrial application, effectively driving the intelligent leap of localized welding processes.

Dr. Yang Zhanye: Physical AI Is the Core Engine of Robot Intelligence

Dr. Yang Zhanye is the current CTO of 3Srobotics. He graduated from the Power Transmission and Motion Control Centre (PTMC) at the University of Bath in the UK and has over a decade of R&D and management experience in intelligent robotics. He previously held a core R&D role at autonomous trucking company Plus.ai and served as a researcher at the Hong Kong Institute of Intelligent Construction, accumulating deep cross-disciplinary technical expertise in intelligent driving and robotics. As the company’s technical lead, Dr. Yang leads the full-chain product development of 3Srobotics’ embodied AI welding robots and coordinates the R&D and deployment of core systems including the “welding brain” and “welding cerebellum”, driving the company’s products through the key leap from automated to intelligent welding — a key figure in 3Srobotics’ deep integration of AI and advanced manufacturing.

Strategic Significance: A Localization Path Driven by Physical AI Simulation

Physical AI is becoming the strategic high ground of global intelligent manufacturing competition.

In key fields crucial to national competitiveness such as aerospace, offshore petroleum and high-end equipment, the localization and intelligence of welding processes is an inescapable core proposition. The deep cooperation between 3Srobotics and Shengyao Intelligence, built on physical AI simulation technology and centered on welding-process intelligence, is a strong alliance between people who understand processes and people who understand simulation.

Dr. Yang believes physical AI is the core factor determining the next stage of robot competitiveness. In his view, the real difficulty lies not in motion control itself, but in incorporating complex welding process parameters, material response characteristics and environmental disturbances into a unified simulation and decision framework — only by accurately modeling the physical world can robots continuously optimize in flexible manufacturing scenarios, ultimately reaching or even surpassing the working level of senior welders. 3Srobotics will continue to deepen physical AI simulation, strengthening the “simulation–learning–execution” technical closed loop, driving intelligent welding robots across the leap from single-point process validation to multi-industry scale replication, so that domestically produced intelligent equipment truly delivers value in real industrial scenarios.
